Triluna is organised according to foundation-like principles before it possesses a legal foundation structure or substantial endowment.

Why Triluna exists

Useful work can disappear when a project ends, a creator changes direction, a technical system is replaced, or an informal record loses its context. Triluna provides a durable institutional place for selected cultural, educational, intellectual, and technical work that deserves continued care.

It does not replace the original project or claim ownership merely because it preserves a record. Stewardship means keeping purpose, responsibility, provenance, access, and revision history intelligible over time.

The central idea

A foundation before the fund

財なき財団 means that purpose and institutional discipline come before capital. It is not a claim that Triluna is a Japanese legal entity or a 財団法人.

The lighter phrasing—財団、ただし財はまだない。 A foundation, except that the fund is not there yet—may explain the idea, but it is not a legal or financial claim.

What makes work suitable

It has cultural, educational, intellectual, technical, or documentary value beyond a short release cycle.
Its purpose, responsible project, intended audience, and stewardship obligation can be stated precisely.
Preservation or publication will not blur the canonical home or responsibility of the originating project.
Its privacy, visibility, revision, and supersession requirements can be honoured.
Triluna can maintain the record honestly without inventing capacity, authority, or proof.

Rules expressed as practice

Purpose before capital.Define what must endure before seeking resources to support it.
Work before claims.Describe only work, authority, and capacity that actually exist.
Stewardship before possession.Care for context and continuity without treating custody as automatic ownership.
Longevity before novelty.Prefer durable formats, clear revision paths, and understandable records over fashionable presentation.
Truth before appearance.Keep legal status, publication status, verification strength, and limitations unambiguous.
Privacy and dignity by design.Collect little, expose no protected records, and treat access restrictions as real controls.
Independence with accountability.Protect judgment from opportunistic pressure while making authority and conflicts visible.
Preservation without stagnation.Retain history and superseded versions while allowing responsible revision and reinterpretation.

Institutional fields

The branches serve a wider mandate.

Sapientia

Knowledge, education, inquiry, research notes, mathematics, philosophy, psychology, independent study, documented experiments, and difficult public explanations.

Boundary: not a university, accredited school, research institute, or academic publisher.

Ars

Art, design systems, fictional worlds, scripts, languages, cultural documentation, typography, music-related work, and literary or visual publications.

Boundary: not a generic gallery, portfolio, or promotional mirror.

Custodia

Archives, provenance, canonical status, releases, identifiers, checksums, seals, signatures, visibility, supersession, preservation, authenticity, and continuity.

Boundary: a major institutional function, not the whole identity of Triluna.

Patronatus Dormant

A reserved future capacity for responsible support of education, culture, preservation, independent creators, or public-interest technical work.

Activation gate: real resources, suitable governance, conflicts policy, financial controls, selection principles, reporting, and legal authority.

Technical work is cross-branch

Triluna does not create a fifth branch for appearance. Knowledge and specifications may sit within Sapientia; preservation, identity, privacy, verification, and continuity may sit within Custodia; a particular work may cross both.

What Triluna refuses to become

Triluna will not imitate a registered foundation, charity, university, ministry, membership order, grant-maker, or secretariat that does not exist. It will not duplicate Ronova or Gekka Harae, convert examples into official releases, or use ceremonial language to conceal missing governance.
